The Dachsbuckel estate is situated on the western slope of the Königstuhl, a foothill of the Odenwald to the south.We still belong to Heidelberg but if you walk a few meters further south you are in Leimen, the"Boris-Becker-town". Be The estate is surrounded by vineyards about 240 meters above sea-level and well about 140 meters above the Rheinebene (plain, flat countryside along the river Rhine).
Directions by Car
You travel along A5 autobahn as far as the exit Heidelberg "Leimen/Schwetzingen". There you leave the autobahn and follow the federal highway 535 towards the mountains in the direction of Heidelberg.
You follow the road for about 1 km until you come to a bridge across the road. Just before this bridge you turn right in the direction of "Emmertsgrund/Boxberg". This road leads in a wide bend about 4 km. up the hill - there you pass an Aral service station on the left - into the Emmertsgrund (a district at the outskirts of Heidelberg). (Speed limit 30 kmh (18mph), give way to vehicles coming form your right - even if lines on the street may tell the contrary!). You follow this street as far as the MLP multi-storeyed building. Immediately behind this building you turn left - the street leads through the multi-storeyed building - Jellinekplatz - and then left again at the sign "Winzerhof Dachsbuckel". You enter the forest and, after 30 meters you turn right and follow this street for about 200 meters through the forest. Then. you come to the end of the forest you can already see our estate surrounded by vineyards. HERE you can look at a map.
Directions - Train and public transport
At the Heidelberg main station you take the streetcar no.4 as far as "Rohrbach Süd". There you take the bus no.31 to "Emmertsgrund". You get off at the last bus stop. From the loop just beside this bus stop you take a footpath uphill into the forest. After 30 meters it ends into a paved forest road where you turn right and after a 100-meter-walk downhill you come to the Winzerhof Dachsbuckel on the left hand side.
